Golden Record | Group Exhibition at Galway Arts Centre for GAIF 2017

17 to 30 July

The Voyager Golden Records, created to go on board Voyagers 1 & 2, contained recordings varying from two people kissing to mathematical equations. This group exhibition looks at our need to record, document and create objects in order to make sense of the world and our place within it.

Featured artists include Dorothy Cross, Laura de Búrca, Ed Devane, Jane Locke, Susan MacWilliam, Lucy McKenna, Suzanne Mooney, Lorraine Neeson, Paul Nugent, Niamh O’Malley, Richard Proffitt and Jennifer Walshe.

Facing West | Group Exhibition at Boyle Arts Festival 2017, Roscommon

21 July to 18 August

Now in its 28th year, the magnificent setting of King House is again be the centerpiece for the Boyle Arts Festival, bringing established and emerging Irish artists together under one roof in this most gracious of surroundings.

“Facing West” features over 100 acclaimed artists and rising stars. Presenting works in a range of medium, including painting, drawing, sculpture, textile, ceramics and photography to make this exhibition that aims to engage, enthuse and inspire.

The exhibition has been curated by Paul McKenna and will be officially opened on Thursday 20th July at 8pm in King House by Minister Heather Humphreys.
