David McEwen at the School House for Art, Co. Wicklow

This November the Schoolhouse Gallery is delighted to welcome artist David McEwen to exhibit a selection of his works.

The exhibition ‘An introduction to the paintings of David McEwen’ will take place from Friday the 24th of November.
The Gallery will be open on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th from 9:30 am to 5pm.

Critical Bastards Issue 15 Launch – Bilocation at Studio 6, TBG+S, Dublin 2

22 November 2017, 6 – 8pm

Critical Bastards Magazine will launch its 15th issue: Bilocation at Studio 6 Temple Bary Gallery & Studios.

This issue focuses on responses and reviews of recent presentations of art in Ireland and New York City. Contributors include Suzanne Walsh, Adrian Duncan, Lily Cahill, Davey Moor, Seung Hee Kim, Philip Kavanagh, Barry Kehoe, Dominic Paul Miller, Pat Riarchy, Jessamyn Fiore, Sara O’Brien and Aiden Kelly Murphy.

Sustainable Practice for Photographers with Marc Prüst at The Library Project

A special seminar ideal for professional photographers looking to move beyond their current clients, practitioners looking to move into professional photography, either as a part time or as a full time occupation.

The seminar takes place over 2 days: one afternoon and the following morning. During the first meeting the theory of the business and marketing plans are explained. The second meeting is used to put the learnings into practice and make an effective start with writing of both, the business plan and the marketing plan.

The Visual Artists Ireland Residency Award is open to all members of Visual Artists Ireland. The award provides a one week fully paid residency/retreat at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre. The residency will be self-catering, and will provide accommodation and a studio facility. Further details about the Centre can be found on their website http://www.tyroneguthrie.ie

The award is only available to individual artists. It is not suitable for group applications.

Only online applications will be accepted. The deadline is 5:30pm, Friday 15th December 2017. No applications will be accepted after that date. To ensure that the system is fair for all, there can be no exceptions to this. For that reason we recommend that you do not leave it until the last minute to make your application.

The winner will be announced in the second half of January 2018.

Open Call | Home Residency at Digital Arts Studios, Belfast

The Home Residency at the Digital Arts Studios offers four months in which to work on a specific project of your choice and to develop your skills and artistic practice.

DAS will provide artists with a productive and dynamic environment to produce work and offer support to artists in realising the aims of their residency.

The next Home Residency will run from February to May 2018, inclusive.
