iom- | Adam Goodman, Cara Farnan and Eve Rogers at The Complex, Dublin

23 to 25 February 2018

Every object is prefixed with circularity; circularity of motion, of process, of time. Iom- brings together new work by Adam Goodman, Cara Farnan and Eve Rogers. This circularity is an ongoing point of reflection within the work of the three artists. Through the accumulation of time and space, all things age. They grow and degrade, yet have an ability to endure, adapt and regenerate. Through a quiet organisation of works based around personal belief systems, Iom- creates an atmosphere that does not interrogate the viewer. The work oscillates between the familiar and the otherworldly, gently encouraging engagement rather than demanding it.

Opening event: Thursday 22nd of February, 5pm – 8pm

Echoes | Rosemary Hurrell at The Hyde Bridge Gallery, Sligo

20 February to 13 March 2018

Originally from Somerset, England, Rosemary Hurrell has been living in Sligo for twenty years. Graduating from IT Sligo in 2017 after completing a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, this is her first solo show.

Her work is in direct response to her personal environment and landscape, it is influenced by a curiosity in memory and how stimulation or prompt from our senses can bring to the fore long forgotten memories. She incorporates the investigation of DNA and how our inherited genes may impact our lives. Exploring memory, perception and family history, she questions our place in the natural order, memories that build connections between past, present and future.

Initially inspired by traditional embroidery the three dimensional machine embroidered forms/sculptures communicate a visual representation of the integrated complexities between the union of perceived and true reality.

O ait go hAit | Paddy Lennon at Old Market House Art Centre, Dungarvan

24 February to 6 April 2018

A collection of new works from Paddy Lennon featuring a body of work created over the past 3 year period.

Works range from the very small in scale (5 x 5 cm) to large (220 x 150cm). Despite the disparity in scale these paintings aim to achieve a harmony and an art of balance. There is an emotional resonance to this work that not only attracts the viewer but remains with them long after viewing the work.
