Kiera O’Toole is an independent visual artist and researcher based in The Model, Sligo. O’Toole’s practice examines the perceptual experience of drawing as both the maker of drawing and drawing as an encounter and also considers the felt and lived experiences of place and non-place. O’Toole holds a BA (Fine Art) from DIT (2000) and a MPhil (Fine Art, Research) from Newcastle University, Australia (2013) and has exhibited in Ireland, Finland, UK and Australia including featured artist in The National Museum of Australia. Recent and upcoming exhibitions include The Model, Sligo (2017), Centre for Creative Practices, Dublin (2016/7), Damer House Gallery (2017), Catalyst Arts Gallery (2017), Municipal Gallery dlr Lexicon, Dublin (2016), Leitrim Sculpture Centre (2016/7) and The Waterways Ireland, Enniskillen (2016). O’Toole has obtained several residencies in Australia and Ireland including upcoming residencies in Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Centre for Creative Practices and Green Door Eco Building Project.
