Sheila has been involved in the development of the arts and culture infrastructure of Limerick for many years. She is currently Arts and Culture Officer and Creative Ireland Coordinator for Limerick. She was Deputy Director for Limerick’s European Capital of Culture 2020 bid. She was part of the leadership that delivered Limerick National City of Culture 2014, a project that changed the narrative of Limerick at a local and national level.
In her work as Arts Officer she has published an Integrated Arts Strategy for Limerick City, and Limerick Cultural Strategy, A Framework (2016-2030). She has advised on policy on a range of issues, including Cultural Diversity, Artist in the Community, Local Arts Development the development of Creative Limerick.
She is passionate about Limerick and all that the Arts and Culture can do in creating a civic society. She is an avid reader of all things literature, and is a social media enthusiast, especially of Twitter!
