Aedín McGinn is the Curator at Luan Gallery, the midlands municipal visual art gallery based in the heart of Ireland on the banks of the River Shannon in Athlone.
Aedín initially trained in Fine Art in DIT before completing a degree in Criticism, Communication and Curation of Arts and Design in Central Saint Martin’s College London. In 2009, Aedín completed an MA in Arts Management and Cultural Policy with UCD. Aedín worked in a number of galleries including Talbot Gallery and Studios, The Complex, The Origin and the Urban Retreat Galleries and the Hayward Gallery in London before taking up her role at Luan Gallery in 2012. Aedín manages the exhibitions, access and education programmes at Luan Gallery and completed the Azure training course in 2015. Aedín is also the Assistant Manager at Athlone Arts and Tourism Ltd, managing Luan Gallery, Abbey Road Artists’ Studios and Athlone Castle Visitor Centre.
Interested in: previously unseen and new works in every medium, Aedín is keen to assist artists in developing exhibition proposals, narrowing focus and ensuring a comprehensive presentation of work
