Open Studio Group at Blackwatch Studio, Co. Kilkenny

Blackwatch Studio runs an ongoing open studio every Monday, available to all artists, experienced, budding or just anyone looking to begin a new journey exploring their creative side. Discover new creative skills, through sharing, with like minded and fellow artists, in a peaceful warm and inviting environment.

During the year the group visit exhibitions together, for inspiration and time to chill out over lunch. The aim going into the New Year is to organise a group exhibition.

A4 Sounds are currently looking for fine artists working in a range of disciplines including (but not limited to) sculpture, paint, print, photography and textiles.

As a socially engaged organisation A4 also have a keen interest in applications from artists working in the following disciplines: Social Practice, Social Justice, Social Intervention, Socially Engaged, Dialogical, Participatory, Critical Thinking and Research, Activist, Political, Relational, Community, Collaborative Art or New Genre Public Art.

Studio Memberships Available at A4 Sounds

A4 Sounds is a interdisciplinary studio space and will suit artists of all sorts that enjoy working in a shared environment and need access to a wide range of facilities over the duration of their projects. A4 member artists work in a wide range of disciplines including, paint, print, textiles, activism, socially engaged art, film, documentary, animation, illustration, sculpture, woodwrk, metal work, performance, new media and more.

A4 memberships are modular starting at €75 per month, with the option of adding a storage locker (€10-€30 pm) or a personal workspace (€100-€130 pm).

Call for Membership and Open Access at Graphic Studio Dublin

Application deadline: Friday 26 January, 4pm

Graphic Studio Dublin welcomes applications for Membership and Open Access. Members enjoy 24hr/365day access to four floors of fantastic printmaking facilities. Open Access is 15 days of supervised access to the Studio, prepaid, to be used Monday to Friday and within a calendar year.

Applications for membership or open access are in writing and must include:
– a cover letter stating why the candidate wishes to join Graphic Studio Dublin,
– an up to date CV (including all relevant professional experience listed in chronological order)
– and an artist’s statement.

Applications for membership must be accompanied by a portfolio (no larger than A1 in size) containing a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 12 of the applicants best pieces of original print work (no photographs or discs please) any extra information regarding the prints submitted is welcome and encouraged (dates, inspiration, etc.).

A panel of assessors, including the Studio Director, and an outside assessor, evaluate the portfolio, seeking demonstration of ability in at least one method of printmaking. In the absence of a formal qualification in printmaking, the candidate must demonstrate professional competency through work practice.

Open Access: the fee is €300 for 15 days paid in advance

Desk space available in shared workspace at Creative Exchange Studios, Belfast

Desk space available from 1st February in shared digital hub at Creative Exchange Artists Studios, east Belfast. Rent is £30 per month and includes personal use of Apple iMac 21.5 inch, all utilities, wifi, 24 hour access and secure onsite parking. Studio Available at Pallas Projects/Studios, Dublin 8

Pallas Projects/Studios (since 1996) provides a dynamic and nuturing working environment, based in a converted school building located at the bottom of Francis Street, Dublin 8, just minutes walk from the National College of Art & Design, Christchurch and the city centre. We offer excellent, affordable spaces to both established and emerging Dublin-based artists working in the contemporary visual arts, for periods from 6 months to 3 years.

The studios feature: 24 hour access, off-street location with large communal outdoor area, secure and alarmed, large sash windows with excellent natural light in all studios, high-speed broadband, kitchen facilities, new wiring, and eco-friendly heating and lighting system. Studio members are featured on the PP/S website, which also features current and archived projects from our internationally recognised programme. Studio members can also avail of subsidised access to our project space.

Call for New Members of Engage Arts Studios, Galway

Application deadline: Friday 19 December, 5pm

Engage Arts Studios are currently accepting applications for Core and Orbital membership. The unique studio space is on the top floors of the old Cathedral Building on the corner of Middle and Abbeygate Street with a further 6 studios in their newly opened space on St Francis St. They are private studios (separate locking doors) with a fully equipped office and digital suite. Both buildings are safe, well lit and located just off Shop Street in Galway City Centre. Engage also offers an ‘Orbital’ membership, which allows access to Engage’s facilities and to members exhibitions and opportunities. Orbital membership is very well suited to artists with home studios or living in the county.

Applicants must be 18 years or over and practising visual artists with a minimum of a degree in Fine Art and/ or a minimum of three jury selected shows.

Their application must include:

  • up to 10 medium sized images of their recent work (jpeg format)
  • a biography,
  • an up to date CV
  • a letter of intent

Studio Available to Rent at Platform, Belfast

This is a great opportunity for an artist looking to rent a well-maintained studio in a central Belfast location. The studios are roomy, naturally lit spaces suiting a variety of uses. Studio members have 24 hour access to the building; WIFI, electricity and access to toilet facilities are included within the rental price.

Artist’s studio has recently become available at Kennedy Art. Situated above the shop this studio is bright and comfortable with both natural and artificial light.

A very comfortable working environment consisting of friendly, established and emerging artists. Located in the city centre, just minutes from Grafton street and some of Dublin’s best art museums. Also well situated amongst a wide selection of cafes and restaurants. Easy access to the Luas and several bus lines.

Studio to Rent at GOMA Gallery of Modern Art, Waterford

The deadline for application: Monday 18 December, 4pm.

GOMA Gallery of Modern Art is offering a studio to rent on a six month rolling contract. The subsidised rent of each studio space is €60 per month. This covers rent, rates, electricity, heating, wifi and refuse.

Where artists contribute time to daily running of the galley, they will get credit for their rent. This will be refunded back to them at the end of each quarter at a maximum rate of €5 per week. This will be paid into their bank account.

Artists wishing to be considered should apply by emailing a proposal to The proposal is to give detail of your work and to include your CV. and images that best demonstrates your practice.

All artists are required to sign a contract. These contracts will be for 6 months and will be signed every 6 months.
There will be an annual review undertaken to ensure that the artists proposal and work is aligned to the ethos of GOMA.
Rent will need to be paid monthly in advance.
Standing orders are to be completed by all awarded artists.

RHA Studio Available from March 2018

The RHA School is offering a studio to rent for either a six-month or twelve-month slot beginning in March 2018. The studio space measures approximately 4.7m x 4.9m and is fully equipped with a sink and storage units. There is also a common room and kitchen facilities available. The studios have 24-hour secure access and are non-residential. The subsidised cost of each studio to the awarded artist is €200 per month, all heat and utility costs are included in this. Blackstaff Mill shared studio space available, shared with two ceramicists/sculptors/interdisciplinary, suitable for someone who works in ceramics or large scale. Kiln hire available on site in time, and kiln hire available immediately across the road at Conway Mill.

Studios Available at The Courthouse Gallery and Studios, Co. Clare

The Courthouse Gallery and Studios comprises of a gallery, a project space, four artists’ studios, a workshop space and a recording studio. It is located in Ennistymon, serving the region of North West Clare. The organisation is a registered charity and is funded on a not-for-profit basis by Clare County Council, LEADER, the Arts Council (project funding), and through self-realised fundraising.

Housed in a restored Georgian courthouse building, the four studios offer 24/7 access, are situated on the first floor (no lift), and have good natural light.

The Courthouse is now inviting applications from professional visual artists for occupancy of two of the studios, with a minimum licencing of three months, to a maximum term of 2 years and 9 months. Professional craft makers will also be considered.
Heat, light and broadband are included in the monthly fee of €150, payable in advance on the 1st of each month.

Studio space available for an eleven month term in spacecraft artists studios, Limerick city centre. The space is one of eight in the open plan studio.

Each space measures 3m x 2m and members have 24 hour access.
