The V&A are currently recruiting for the post of Assistant Curator in the Ceramics and Glass Section of the Sculpture, Metalwork, Ceramics and Glass Department, as part of the museum’s Assistant Curator Development Programme. The programme is designed to augment Assistant Curator posts by providing a wide range of training and experience of curatorial work needed to help care for our collections. During the 5 year contract, a secondment of six months will be undertaken in a Collections Department other than the Sculpture, Metalwork, Ceramics and Glass Department.

The successful candidate will be educated up to at least degree-level (qualifications must have been confirmed and awarded at the time of the application), with substantive experience of work or volunteering within a museum or other relevant cultural organisation. Excellent grammatical English, computer skills and a good knowledge of a relevant second modern language are essential. Candidates must have a demonstrable interest in British or European ceramics and glass. We also welcome candidates with a general interest in contemporary art and design.
