The Gallery at Plymouth College of Art invites proposals from designers to develop a new body of work for exhibition, through a residency at Plymouth College of Art, making use of their workshop facilities. The selected designer will meet and work alongside their students, to offer an insight into their process and approach. Designers should be open to sharing their practice with students and to delivering input into teaching and learning. The selected designer will be awarded a fee of £3000 plus a materials budget of £1000. Additionally, there will be a separate budget for installing and producing the exhibition in The Gallery and artist travel and accommodation (up to £2000).
The residency will sit within the area of Design which includes the undergraduate programmes: 3D Design Crafts (ceramic, glass and metal); Graphic Design; Fashion; Printed Textile Design & Surface Pattern; Creative Advertising & Brand; Costume Production & Associated Crafts; Textile Practices; Product Design & Innovation and Interior Decoration, Design & Styling. Alongside related masters programmes including Visual Communication, Disruptive Design, Textiles, Digital Fabrication and 3D Design Crafts.
