Saturday 29 July, 6pm and Sunday 30 July, 10am.
The artist partnership art manoeuvres aims to respond to the current climate in Ireland for making art in a collaborative context and seeks to engage new audiences in art and politics. Following six months of intensive research work by the artists, the first event: Emergency Sleepover: Delusions, Dreams and Dilemmas, was held in June at Clonakilty Community Arts Centre.
This is Not a Dream will be the second overnight, performative event, providing an opportunity to imagine and engage with urgent social and political issues in an immersive environment. During the evening, participants will co-create contexts and characters on the theme of survival in simulated scenarios including interventions, screenings, analogue urban projections and more. This is neither performance nor spectacle: come as a participant to co-create an unforgettable shared experience. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bedding – nutrition provided).
As a lead in to This Is Not a Dream, art manoeuvres will be in residency at Uillinn: West Cork Arts Centre for one month from July 8. An open-door policy will operate during this residency to invite the general public in West Cork to get involved and participate on the night.
Strictly over 18’s. Limited places available. Up to 24 people can attend from 6pm – 11pm. Only 12 people can stay overnight. To express an interest in attending this event please contact Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre Front Desk.
