Susan MacWilliam’s film ‘Pull Down’, 2016, will screen at the 2017 San Diego Underground Film Festival, Tenth Avenue Arts Center, San Diego. San Diego Underground Arts is an artist-run non-profit organization that promotes the experimentation in video, film, and audio based mediums.
‘Pull Down’ synopsis: Conjuring up the dark spaces of the séance room, Pull Down intimately observes the collapsing and slumping of a girl through the focusing lens of a camera. Continuing the artist’s explorations of the phenomena of spiritualism, Pull Down draws attention to the role of the camera as observer of the medium within historic psychical research studies.
