Christopher Banahan at the Kenny Gallery, Galway

21 April to 19 May 2017
The Kenny Gallery, Liosbán Retail Park, Tuam Road, Galway

‘Galway 4040 / Remains of Us’ by Christopher Banahan Road is an imaginary retrospective view of Galway by archaeologists in 4040 , who re-discover fragmented portrait remnants of iconic Galway people from today.
Their identity is lost and the future archivists have to name the people in the portraits and imagine what life’s they lead. Therefore the exhibition focuses on identity and how we judge people on first appearance rather than really knowing them, as unknown citizens are mingled with the famous.
