Friday 1 December

Part 1 – H+S Awareness and Risk Assessments – (10.30 – 13.00)
Vincent Kiely will discuss the need for developing Health and Safety Awareness around your work as an artist or studio manager. He will also look at how to undertake Risk Assessments for art projects, processes or events through scenarios provided by participant artists. Giving artists the tools to undertake risk assessments as an ongoing part of their work practice.

Lunch Break

Part 2 – Materials and Processes – (14.00 – 14.45)
Mick O’Hara / Workshop Technician, Fire Station Artists’ Studios will discuss Health & Safety issues to consider when using a range of chemicals, materials and processes in the studio.

Part 3 – Health and Safety for Studios – (15.00 – 15.45)
Helen Carey / Director of Fire Station Artists’ Studios will provide insight into developing a Health and Safety Policy and maintaining good H+S practices within a studio, also looking at the legal obligations around Health and Safety in the Studio.
