10/09/2012 – Abundance
‘Abundance’- an exhibition of paintings by Mary Wallace.
Wallace’s mixed media paintings show an exuberant response to nature and capture the sensory essence of her subject: citrus groves bursting with tantalising oranges, biting lemons, zinging limes; exquisite persimmons, fabulous figs, opulent pomegranates – painting exotic fruit has become a fascination for her. Leaving the Mediterranean she also finds herself searching the gardens, orchards and hedgerows of home to seek fruits just as exotic and alluring: cherries, pears, plums, peaches, rosehips, damsons…..in abundance.
There are up to 40 small to medium scale paintings.
