UCD Parity Studios is delighted to announce four new recipients of the UCD Artists in Residence programme, 2016. Artists Brian Duggan, Fiona McDonald and Jennifer Redmond have been awarded the UCD College of Science residencies. Artist Marie Brett has been awarded the UCD College of Social Sciences and Law residency.
The success of this programme is dependent on the artists, academics, researchers and students who get involved in exchanges of questions, ideas, knowledge and approaches to research and communication. In 2015, we had the privilege of welcoming artists Vanessa Daws, Fiona Marron, Maria McKinney, Michael McLoughlin and Dominic Thorpe to the residency and would like to thank them for their immense and valued contributions to the programme.
UCD Parity Studios is an artist led initiative connecting the ecology of arts in Ireland with research and education at University College Dublin. Our mission is to create a dynamic network of creative relationships, collaborative projects and partnerships between professional artists, academics, researchers and students, working at the intersections of their disciplines. It is a practice based programme developed from a shared vision and collaboration between artist Emer O Boyle and Professor of Astronomy Lorraine Hanlon.
