Thursday Feb 9 Visual Artists Café: Climate Action
Over the last year VAI has worked with John Thorne, Sustainability Coordinator at Glasgow School of Art, to help support visual artists evaluate and shape their practices to be aware and inclusive of climate change principles. Empowering them to make meaningful and impactful changes.
In this visual artists café, we seek to take the conversation further and will look at where it could and should go next. We will speak with leading culture figure Tania Benotti, Director of Creative Ireland, on Climate Change and its importance within the Creative Ireland programme and opportunities therein.
John Thorne will give a summary of the leading discussions and give a perspective on the delivery of the Ethical Artist webinars and clinics.
We will also speak with visual artists from Ireland, Canada and the USA in whose practice climate change awareness features prominently.
