WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Following in the tradition of Japanese Ukiyo-e printmaking, Mokuhanga is a process that is suitable for anyone interested in a non-toxic, water-based, tabletop printmaking technique. This unique, meditative and environmentally friendly process involves, hand carving on Japanese Shina wood and printing onto Japanese Washi. With no mechanical press required, only a hand – held Baren. In this workshop, we will use a registration system based on the uniquely Japanese ‘Kento’ system of registration.
