Workshop | Painting Loose On A Strong Foundation with Bairbre Duggan at the Schoolhouse for Art

“It’s not what you paint, but how you paint it!” This 4-day course builds strong design foundations, colour mixing theory and ways to loosen up. Using still life, the week includes talks on Notan and value, painting demonstrations, set-up and colour practice. Designed for painters with basic skills who feel their work is “too tight”. Loose painting isn’t just fast or intuitive – if you’ve been frustrated, this workshop could help! You’ll work small to medium scale, making studies and finished pieces. Bring your own still life objects.
