Workshop | Painting in the Company of Cézanne and Bonnard with Sinéad Lucey at Artform

In this course held in Artform seaside studio, we will learn by investigating works of two great painters. Drawing from Paul Cézanne’s still lives we will explore his compositions of shapes and rhythms of dark and light, prepare grounds and make underpaintings. With a limited palette we will discuss tones, hues, paint consistency and brushwork, to understand why Cézanne’s late painting is considered the beginning of modern art. In a similar way we will look at the world through Bonnard’s eyes. Inspired by these great artists we will then build and paint our own still lives.
