Activating Public Engagement in Rural Places | Master Class with Deirdre O’Mahony at The Courthouse Gallery, Co. Clare

Artist Deirdre O’Mahony leads this intensive weekend master class revolving around three lectures that reflect upon key issues affecting contemporary rural places:

– Local or “Local” Local, ideas of “Community” in contemporary rural Ireland.
– My Place your Space – Land, Regulation, and Unruly Subjectivities
– Is That All There Is? Productive Land/Consumer Destination the Future of Farming

This class is for artist-practitioners with prior experience in social and community-based art practice in rural places and will include a field trip, lunches and a group dinner to facilitate discussion and thinking. Over the weekend time will be given for one-to-one discussions on the participating artist’s projects and practice.
