Developing an International Practice- 28th October

This webinar will cover a brief history and context of international artist opportunities and the politics of movement for artists. What is important for artists to know when applying for international residencies, exhibitions, and open calls? How can I write about or discuss my work with audiences internationally? How do I start building relationships with other artists, curators, or collaborators overseas?

Erika Mei Chua Holum is a writer and curator based in Northwest Ireland. She is Curator at The Dock in Carrick-on-Shannon, County Leitrim. Recent projects include How to Grow the Cow Pea: Survival Strategies from the U.S. South at Visual Art Center at the University of Texas at Austin (2026); 踩下去! DOWN TO EARTH!, awarded the 2025 TANK Curator Prize from the Shanghai Curator Lab 4 (2025/2026); major solo exhibitions at the Blaffer Art Museum with Cian Dayrit (2024) and Saif Azzuz (2025); and Ecofictions and Understories (2023-24) with the Houston Climate Justice Museum.
