Artist and Curator Café- 20th October
An in person event for south Dublin based visual artists to come together for tea and a themed conversation with curators at Rua Red This will be unique opportunity to make connections with artists and curators.

Dermot Browne
Dermot Browne is an Irish artist and curator born in Dublin in 1973. Browne’s painting practice grounds and informs a range of activities and engagements, inclusive of a busy curatorial programme of exhibitions across independently and collaboratively negotiated spaces within and and without the Arts Infrastructure.
Painting as a way of “seeing into” and also “looking upon” the world, has led Dermot from a studio practice which adopts a broad range of methodologies, outward towards the arts-infrastructure, in a systems based investigation into the assumptions that we as “arts workers” labour under.
As moved by artists and their lives as he is by their productions, Dermot’s 25 year + engagement in Somatic practices, in particular Meditation, has informed his Performance based Coaching method.
An active practitioner of change-making technologies, Dermot is currently taking his Masters in Design Thinking for Sustainability through UCD’s Innovation Academy, and is also a Core Team member of the Ireland Hub for MIT’s Theory U practices at the Presenting Institute.
Ruth Hogan
Ruth Hogan is an Irish creative producer, curator and writer. She has almost twenty years’ experience of working with many of the Uk’s leading blue-chip art galleries and internationally renowned contemporary artists. She has previously held roles at White Cube, Lisson Gallery and Simon Lee Gallery and worked with many acclaimed artists such as Yinka Shonibare and Sonia Boyce. With an established international network, she has an extensive track record in exhibition delivery, curation and mentorship. She holds a MA in Curating Contemporary Art from Royal College of Art, London.
Alice Quinn Banville
Alice Quinn Banville is a freelance producer and curator based in Dublin, with a focus on contemporary and experimental visual art, moving image and performance. She is Associate Producer at Pan Pan, Creative Producer at Festival in a Van and works on an ongoing basis with various independent artists. Previously, she has worked with aemi, Go Short, Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, Brokentalkers, IMMA, De Appel and Paula Cooper Gallery. The recipient of Agility, Bursary and Project Awards from the Arts Council, in 2024 she was selected by Dublin Fringe Festival for Dublin Theatre Festival & Performing Arts Forum’s Next Stage ‘Wild Card’ award and in 2025, DCC’s Incubation Space Award as one of the co-ordinators of fanvid, a volunteer-led DIY film club with a rolling open call. In 2023 she helped to found Daylight, a co-operative community space and art studio in Glasnevin.
