Artist Talk: Kathy Tynan – Developing my Practice – 17 April
Kathy Tynan is an artist who primarily works in painting and drawing. Her subject matter is drawn from her everyday experiences and often features landscapes, cityscapes, domestic interiors, people and animals. Much of Tynan’s focus centres around acts of caregiving and the theory of soft fascination. During her talk she will discuss her semi-autobiographical approach to subject matter and how she builds her image bank of reference material. She will also reflect a variety of moments in her career that have been formative, both professionally and creatively. She will describe the process of establishing herself as a professional artist as well as other artists who have influenced her practice.
