Call for Participation | Darling Diaphanous Video Project at Glasgow Women’s Library
CALL FOR PARTICIPATION
DARLING DIAPHANOUS
A new video work by Chloe Austin
Glasgow Women’s Library
Exhibition: 15th November 2025 – 21st January 2026
Deadline to express interest: August 31st
Darling Diaphanous is a love letter to the Lesbian Archive at Glasgow Women’s Library – a poetic meditation on queer-feminist archives, intimacy, and the act of writing as a form of touch.
To mark the archive’s 30th anniversary, I’m inviting ten participants to take part in a collaborative video piece exploring queer-feminist expression through voice, reading, and reflection.
What’s Involved
- You will receive a short selection of archival texts (3-4)
- Choose 1–2 texts that resonate with you
- You will record yourself reading them aloud (guidance will be provided)
- Share a short written reflection following the reading
- Submit a 5-10 second video portrait (alternatives available if anonymity is preferred)
What You’ll Be Part Of
Your contribution will become part of a new video work launching at Glasgow Women’s Library in November 2025, and archived as part of a wider project on queer-feminist resistance and care.
All participants will be offered a small fee of £25 for lending their voice time and will be credited and notified if more funding becomes available.
