Curator and Galway based writer Maeve Mulrennan is set to facilitate a Communications and Representation of the Artistic practice workshop at Luan Gallery on Monday 16th of December from 11 am – 4 pm.
This workshop will focus on developing your artist’s statement to accurately communicate your practice. After this focus will switch to creating a digital portfolio that tells the story of your practice to potential funders, exhibition organisers and audiences. The final section will be identifying and promoting your achievements and mapping your goals.
Maeve Mulrennan is a curator and writer based in Galway and has been the Head of Visual Art and Education in Galway Arts Centre since 2006. She has worked to develop Red Bird Youth Collective, Ireland’s first youth-led visual art collective, and serves on the Board of Directors for Galway Community Circus and TULCA Festival of Visual Art, where she was also Chairperson. Maeve is also an esteemed short story writer, with fiction published in several online journals and is working on a collection with Doire Press. Maeve will host a workshop entitled ‘Communicating and Representing your Practice’, which will focus on developing an artist’s statement and digital portfolio, and promoting achievements, in order to communication artistic practice to potential funders, exhibition organisers and audience.
