The film documentation of Wild Swans Performances will be screened via Zoom from the Regional Cultural Centre, Co.Donegal Ireland and the artists and the filmmaker will be available for a Q&A session with the audience (24 Sept. 6.30-8pm).
During the initial lockdown of 2020, Wild Swans in conjunction with Bbeyond and Gresol Art invited ten artists to collaborate on the performance art project ‘Forgotten Places’, which took place in Girona, Spain and Fanad, Co. Donegal and resulted in ten new performance art works which were filmed and edited.
‘Forgotten Places’ explores our sense of place and space and the artist’s specific responses to site, place and memory of a space, to examine how we create from primal spatial experiences and how we embody feelings and images.
The artistic process began online with collaborations between the artists and the film maker. This continued for several months on a weekly basis. Each artist also developed a text related to their performance which will be published as a digital document. The selected artists represent a variety of different approaches to performance art. We are delighted to share extracts of the work with you and our journey.
