Dublin 18 Is…… invites ideas for community-led projects that grow local cultural life and invites you to help decide how to allocate funding to support them.
Funding up to the value of €5,000 is available for cultural projects that directly benefit you, your neighbours, friends and family in Ballyedmonduff, Ballyogan, Cabinteely, Carrickmines, Foxrock, Kilternan, Sandyford, Stepaside & Ticknock.
This is a simple process which is designed to help you think of, develop and pitch an idea for a cultural project that is good for your local community.
Pitch Your Project
Take part in the Pitch Your Project event – tell your community about your idea and vote together on the projects you would like to support.
Saturday 23rd November at 2.30-5pm
Samuel Beckett Civic Campus, Ballyogan, Dublin 18, D18 Y8K1
If you already have an idea for a project/activity/event or you would like to start working it out then you might like to find out the important questions that your pitch will need to answer to get across your idea.
Dublin 18 Is…… are interested in cultural projects. This can be anything that supports local cultural life. For example you might want to encourage walking or gardening or cooking, or you might want to help make more dance, music, craft or other art forms flourish, or you might need a piece of equipment to make the creative things to do more possible, or you want to improve mental and physical health and believe creative activities can help, or you might want to encourage learning or conversation, or you want to be inspired by great artists.
The fund is designed to be flexible as long as you spend it to further the project you are pitching for. Dublin 18 Is…… encourage you to ask for what you reasonably need within the limits of the fund. For example you might need to cover expenses, gear, hiring professional help, getting the message out, food, renting a space. The money can be for an existing project, a new initiative within an existing project or a completely new initiative or idea.
Do I have to attend the 23rd November Pitch Your Project event?
In short yes. Unless you pitch your project to local people in the community then they can’t decide if they want to invest in it. The Imagine Dublin 18 sessions are for your benefit but are optional. It’s fine to have an idea, work on the pitch yourself and come to the 23rd November (but do let us know if you are by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org as they need to know numbers and project ideas in advance)
