Funding | Offaly County Council Arts Acts Grants 2021
Offaly County Council Arts Office are inviting applications for the Arts Acts Grants for 2021. The Arts Acts Grants are an annual funding scheme which provide support to communities and artist groups wishing to engage in a range of arts activity and projects within the community context such as workshops, projects, presentations or events. The aim of the scheme is to stimulate public interest in the arts, promote the knowledge, appreciation and practice of the art and assist in improving the standards of the arts. The Arts Act 2003, from which this scheme derives, includes in the definition of the “arts”, music, literature, film, video, community arts, drama, dance, visual arts, architecture, applied arts.
On an annual basis many community groups use this funding towards developing, producing and hosting excellent arts events and projects within their communities, across the county; from visual arts, staging musicals and choral events, to youth dance workshops, arts and health projects and drama.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, 2020 has been a difficult year for many community groups to utilise the funding they applied for under this scheme, therefore the Arts Office are calling on groups to make an application for 2021, but to include in the application, contingency planning, in other words to come up with a plausible Plan B scenario that would still fit into the criteria of the scheme, if we are faced with further lockdowns in 2021. We want to see the groups and organisations who have put so much work over the years into the development of their organisations to continue to grow and flourish.
Average grant is between €400 – €800, exceptional projects can be funded up to a maximum of €2,000. (one or two per year).
The application deadline is 20th Jan 2021.
