The course is designed to facilitated participants in learning and/or honing the skills of a traditional of printmaking. It suits beginners and experienced printmakers.
The course will unfold as follows:
Day one: Monotype, carborundum, dry-point and multi-plates registration.
Day two: Soft ground and hard ground etching. Aquatint.
Day three: Proofing and creating small editions, working in any of the skills learned during the two days and combining them.
It is an extremely informative, fun course. Visiting artists will be individually guided through all the stages, and have a satisfaction of a hands on experience as well as some very attractive finished work and edition-able prints by the end of each day and the entire course.
The workshop/residency with Daniel Lipstein takes place in Artform seaside, light-filled studio with 24hr access for each visiting artist. On request, Artform also provides an artist accommodation package. Details on art materials required to participate in the course will be provided after signing up to the course. Artform School of Art is located only a few steps from the beach, in the beautiful coastal village of Dunmore East, co. Waterford.
