Kerlin Gallery Dublin are currently seeking applications from skilled, enthusiastic, hard working art technicians.
The job is 1 – 2 day per week, plus 4 days the week of exhibition installs (circa every 5/6 weeks).
Plus Art fair preparation generally about a week of work ahead of art fair shipments.
We normally do 4 – 6 international art fairs per year and possibly art fair travel within Europe for installation/de-installations.
The calendar is set months ahead of time for ease of planning with the big jobs.
Extra days can be required at short notice, so flexibility is very helpful.
This role will often suit practicing artists who do not want to work full time hours and can be flexible with their schedule.
The job is mainly installation and de-install of exhibitions and presentations, packing, handling and safe storing of artwork as required. Liaising with artists and gallery team ahead of exhibitions to assess requirements and prepare for installation. Most technical work would be done in our store and installations at the gallery or clients homes as required.
Experience packing making boxes and ordering of crates an advantage. Ordering packing materials as necessary also an advantage.
Attention to detail and clean working essential.
The work day is 10am – 5:45pm with 1hr lunch break.
