Description

Roscommon County Council Arts Office, in partnership with Roscommon Leader Partnership and a local steering group, has secured a Creative Places Seed Award from the Arts Council to continue the development of Creative Places Ballaghaderreen. This is next phase funding for a three-year developmental arts programme from 2025-2028.

Following a positive first research and development year, Roscommon LEADER Partnership as key partner are now recruiting a Project Coordinator to deliver this next phase in collaboration with Roscommon Arts Office, partners and the local community. The Project Coordinator will work from an office space in a Roscommon LEADER Partnership premises in Ballaghaderreen.

Applicants will require a strong arts background with experience in community engagement, project and budget management and administration.


Terms of Employment

Employer: Roscommon LEADER Partnership CLG
Contract: 3-Year Fixed Term Contract
Location: Primarily based in Ballaghaderreen (Some remote work possible)
Hours of Work: 30 hours/week (across 4 days), Flexible schedule required, including some evenings and weekends.
Salary Scale: €44,931 – €51,980 pro-rata (Salary commensurate with experience)


Overview of Role
The Project Coordinator will lead the development, implementation, and delivery of the Creative Places Ballaghaderreen programme. This includes day-to-day management, consultation with stakeholders and community representatives, and administration of the budget over three years (through residencies, commissions, professional development and training, capacity building, etc.), with responsibility for sourcing additional funding to ensure the programme’s sustainability.


Qualifications
On the latest date for receipt of completed application forms, candidates shall have –

a) Hold an ordinary degree in an Arts or Cultural discipline (level 7 / higher on the National Framework of Qualifications) or demonstrate sufficient relevant transferrable experience and skills in these areas.

b) Have at least two years satisfactory relevant arts development and administration experience including experience of programme development and budget management.

c) Have a satisfactory knowledge of public service organisation and arts policy.

If an offer of employment is made, the candidate will be required to submit all relevant Educational Qualifications to meet the requirements above.


Reporting and Collaboration
The Project Coordinator will report directly to a designated line manager in Roscommon LEADER Partnership and Roscommon County Council Arts Office. They will work closely with local agencies, community groups, and the Project Steering Group (quarterly reporting) to maintain the effective operation of the project and to enhance the work that is happening in the area currently.
