First Cut Youth Film Festival wishes to recruit and hire a part-time Social Media person to support the delivery of the 2021 festival; to compose and post online content on and oversee the festival’s social media accounts: (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and initiate a TikTok account); link to live streaming events and update and monitor First Cut Social Media Pages. This role will support the festival team in developing capacity for inclusion of and relevance to young people/ audience building for FC first virtual festival.
First Cut Youth Film Festival was set-up in 2009, to focus solely on young filmmakers, providing events tailored to their needs and artistic development – to screen, network and learn from each other and from professionals in an enjoyable, safe and nurturing environment, enabling them to build confidence & develop their skills.
Annually since then this free event has created much-needed opportunities and support for young emerging filmmakers from culturally diverse backgrounds to engage, network & showcase short films and provides a range of interactive events for young filmmakers, age 12-25, encouraging broad participation locally, nationally, and internationally.
This annual festival is dedicated to showcasing new films by young filmmakers. This twelfth edition will be online, reaching out to a wider audience across Ireland and abroad. This initial part-time contract is for a total of 260 hours, 10 hours a week, increasing to 20 hours a week for three weeks over the festival period, with a start date in mid- January and continuing during and post festival, with a view to extend, subject to funding.
The festival will consider remote candidates for this position, though ability to be in the Cork area for key meetings and dates of festival events which will take place from April 17 to May 9, 2021.
Hours are spread over a period ideally from Monday Jan. 25th to Friday June 4th, with an hourly rate of €15.
