Due to the success of the Drawing with Nature workshops, Kerry Visual Artist in Residence Lisa Fingleton will be hosting more free, creative and interactive workshops at 9.30 on Friday mornings, 11th and 18th June (up to Summer Solstice). All artists and adults interested in drawing and nature are welcome. Please note that this is a shared, creative experience not a class.
The session will focus on becoming present with nature and using drawing as a meditative tool to really see what is around you this summer. Ideally if you can sit outside in nature (or in your pollytunnel) for inspiration that would be perfect.
Otherwise, create a calm space for yourself and bring in some inspiring pieces of nature that you find during the week such as feathers, stones, branches or flowers. If you are picking something alive, remember to ask permission from the plant or tree before you do so! Have your drawing tools ready (pencils, pens, paper and a board to lean on). Remember to experiment.
We start with a short grounding exercise and share some tips about drawing with nature. Then you have time to observe and draw. There is be space at the end to share, only if you wish to do so. You don’t need any particular drawing skills. just and openness to the experience.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from email@example.com containing information about joining the meeting. If you can share to your calendar that would be great.
