Open Call | Artist Incubator littletinySPACE from Anna Newell
littletinySPACE is a two-part intensive artist incubator project bringing together a group of artists from a wide range of artistic disciplines. We are looking for artists who are established in their own art form but have little or no experience of working with/for younger audiences but who would be interested in exploring making new adventures for audiences of babies under 1 year old! This is a paid opportunity – stipend of €1,000 plus travel and accommodation.
This project aims to bring together 8 diverse artists from a range of art forms who are all established in their art form but with little or no experience of making work with/for younger audiences. Over the course of 2 sets of 3 intensive days (24-26 October and 7-9 November), facilitated by myself, the two SPACE programme facilitators and renowned early years neuroscientist, Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, lots of mini initial collaborations will be set in train exploring making work for audiences of babies under 1. On the final morning of each set of 3 days, a small number of babies and their adults will join the exploration as our creative consultants.
The first set of 3 days will take place in Draiocht, Blanchardstown and the second in Roscommon Arts Centre. Ideally all of the artists and facilitators will stay together and eat together. For the Roscommon days we have booked Hodson Bay hotel where each artist will have their own bedroom and breakfast and dinner will be provided. Accommodation in Blanchardstown is forthcoming.
