Ealaín na Gaeltachta is pleased to announce that the Artists Bursary Award for 2021 is now open, with a deadline of the first of November, 01/11/2021.
Gaeltacht artists, at all stages of their professional careers, are welcome to apply for the Bursary Award.
A bursary allows an artist to set aside time to explore and develop an aspect of their arts practice, and / or to develop a particular work. The scheme is aimed at those who work as artists at all stages of their professional practice living in the Gaeltacht.
We welcome applications from artists in any medium or arts field to apply, e.g. writers, musicians, dancers, visual artists, actors & r.l.
You can download an application here, as well with guidelines to help you complete the form. It is advised to speak to the Arts Facilitator in your region, who will be happy to help you with your application.
The deadline for applications is 1st November 2021.
• Artistic Quality: the quality of your work to date or the potential it represents. The impact of the art development in your practice that you have proposed in the application.
• Professionalism: You do not need to have a regular income from your arts practice, but your application will demonstrate that you have created / demonstrated high quality work or potential, have appropriate qualifications and / or experience and will be recognised as a professional practitioner among your fellow artists.
• The Gaeltacht: This scheme is aimed at artists based in the Gaeltacht. The application should include the artistic relationship you have or will have with the community.
• Gaeilge: The application should show how you work through the medium of Irish.
