Laois County Council Heritage Office and Creative Ireland Laois are programming a series of workshops for Laois Festival of Flight (April 7 – 10) in Portlaoise. We are seeking artists that work in a range of diverse media to design, manage and deliver workshops that will inspire children & young people to creatively and imaginatively respond to the theme of ‘flight’.
The broad theme for the workshop programme is ‘Flights of Fancy’ and your proposed workshop should enable children & young people to
-Participate in a creative, imaginative and inspirational workshop exploring/demonstrating ‘Flights of Fancy’
-Interpret ‘flight’ in an inventive, original and fun way
-Engage and learn about a new medium / media
Your proposal should have a final output that either
- Each child/young person develops a piece of work to take home
- Or the workshop group co-create an installation with many components.
-We require creative facilitators to deliver workshops for children and young people in a range of age categories: Ages 4 – 16
–We welcome proposals from facilitators who can deliver workshops aimed at children with specific special needs (eg. Autism). Your proposal should clearly define what is required to plan and deliver a workshop to children & young people with specific special needs.
A Programme of 6 workshops is being scheduled for Laois Festival of Flight.
