D-Light Studios Creative Residency Award 2022
In 2017 we began the D-Light Studios Creative Residency Award. In 2018 we partnered with the North East Inner City Initiative and Dublin City Council and were able to grow this programme and continue to offer seven residencies to date.
This award has meant we’ve been home to many inspiring and innovative artists and creatives, and it has been a cornerstone of our long-term vision as a meeting point for the local and wider communities of Dublin and a hub for multi disciplinary creative practices.
Previous Residency Awardees:
- 2021: Luke McManus
- 2020: Bob Gallagher
- 2019: Claire McCluskey
- 2019: Sorcha O’Raghallaigh
- 2018: Jane Fogarty
- 2017: Bombinate Theatre
- 2017: Neil Muldowney
Studio space for artists in our city is becoming harder to find and even more difficult to hold on to. Arts funding can be very unstable and unfortunately our support from the NEIC and DCC for this programme has come to an end. Thanks to their generosity over the last four years, it allowed us to start something very valuable and we will continue with a lighter version while we find ways to bring the full residency back.
We have found that this programme aids the development of creative individuals and their practices while building bridges with the local community. This is at the heart of our vision and so we are committed to continuing this award independently. We will do what we can to provide a supportive platform for the arts in Dublin’s North East.
We are delighted to welcome applications for our 2022 creative residency programme which will run from September 1st – November 30th 2022.
