Deadline Reminder | DCCI Future Makers Award
The Design & Crafts Council Ireland’s Future Makers Awards & Supports programme is one of the largest prize-funded award programmes in Europe. It offers a range of awards and supports worth €25,000 to students and emerging makers.
Future Makers is the qualifying competition for the annual RDS Craft Awards, which provides 5 x €10,000 awards to makers at a formative stage in their careers. These five significant awards are for the development of business and craft skills for those pursuing a professional career in the sector. The money can be spent on further education and training, research, development of new work, mentoring, purchase of equipment, studio improvements, website and residencies. To be eligible for the 2023 RDS Craft Awards, emerging craft makers must have won a Future Makers Award or Support in 2022. For more information see www.rds.ie/craft
The awards and supports are open to Students and Emerging Makers:
Student & Recent Graduate category criteria:
Currently studying, training or undertaking an apprenticeship full-time in a design or craft based discipline OR be one year graduated from full time study in a design or craft based discipline. A minimum course duration of 12months is required. Student card or other proof of above education will need to be provided. Post-graduate students should apply to the Emerging Maker category.
Emerging maker category criteria:
Currently in post-graduate studies in a craft or design discipline or graduated from full-time study between 2-6 years ago at the date of entry to Future Makers. And/or have established a craft or design enterprise in the past 6 years. Proof of education history, self-employed status or company incorporation will need to be supplied.
