Dublin Art Installation Brief - Nov 2019Download File
Environmental charity Hubbub has joined forces with Dublin City Council and Coca Cola Foundation to launch a recycling on-the-go campaign in Dublin: an ambitious collaboration that will introduce new recycling infrastructure and make recycling easy to boost on-the-go recycling of plastic bottles and cans in Dublin city centre. The 5-month campaign aims to create meaningful and lasting behaviour change, spark a wider conversation about waste, and leave behind a legacy of recycling infrastructure and networks. Dublin marks Hubbub’s fourth recycling on-the-go project following success in Leeds, Swansea and Edinburgh.
Budget: Up to £8,000
They are looking for an eye-catching, bold installation which will raise awareness about the campaign and act as a conversation-starter. The installation will be a focal point for the campaign and is an opportunity to visualise the issue or help people to understand the importance of recycling.
The installation will be located in Dublin city centre and must be robust, secure and protected against vandalism. Ideally the installation would be easily movable or easy to take apart to increase its potential for use after the official 5-month campaign is over. We are likely to use the installation for other recycling campaigns in Ireland so the installation should be built to last and Ireland-specific rather than Dublin-specific. Sustainability must also be central to the design of the installation. In the past we have had solar powered pieces or installations made from recycled or reused materials.
For the sake of people not based in Dublin, the installation must photograph well to increase its potential as a wider media hook. There must also be the opportunity to display campaign logos and information to link the installation to the wider messaging of the campaign.
