DAS is delighted to launch the Future Labs Foundation Residency which will support up to 8 new or emerging artists to produce innovative digital art. The residency is FREE to participants and will take place over a 6-month period (mid-August 22 – March 23) during which time the artists / creative participants will advance their skills and understanding of digital art through a series of in-person workshops, peer critiques, one-to-one tuition, practical and digital experimentation and research. Foundation Residents will also have free access to all our online Future Labs workshops .
Potential areas of exploration include AI, VR, 2D/3D Animation using Blender, PlayCanvas, Projection Mapping, Physical Computing, Video Editing using DaVinci Resolve, and Photogrammetry.
New art generated through the Foundation Residency will be showcased in a public exhibition.
Participants must contribute to group discussions around digital technologies in visual art practice and take part in a published podcast sharing their experience of the residency and upskilling.
The Future Labs Foundation Residency is supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s Organisations Digital Evolution Awards.
