Bio :
Maija Sofia is a songwriter and artist from the rural west of Ireland, of Irish, Finnish and Turkish-Cypriot heritage. Her debut album Bath Time subtly explored stories of sidelined women in history and myth, and earned a nomination for the prestigious Choice Award, along with widespread critical acclaim for its arresting, intimate singularity. Her songs are built around gauzy analogue synths, dreamlike pop melodies, electric guitar, harp and a curious gift for storytelling. She has performed in the National Concert Hall, Vicar Street and Other Voices.
