As part of an ongoing commitment to professional artists, Graphic Studio Dublin, in partnership with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, is offering a fine art print residency at Graphic Studio Dublin. It is planned that the residency will take place in summer 2020 at a date to be agreed with the artist.
This is a new residency for artists linked to DLR. Similar residencies have been run with support of Fingal County Council since 2013 and Dublin City Council since 2017.
This residency will offer to an emerging or established artist in any discipline, but who is interested in exploring print processes, the opportunity to make a fine art print with the guidance and assistance of a Master Printmaker at Graphic Studio Dublin. The week-long residency will provide an ideal environment for the development of a creative project in printmaking and an opportunity to network with other artists. The artist will produce a finished print, a limited edition of which is then completed for the artist by the studio. The work will be displayed along with members’ work in Graphic Studio Gallery during the following year.
The professional aims and objectives of the successful candidate will be continually assessed during the residency to ensure the artist gains the maximum benefit from their time. The collaborative nature of being part of a collective print studio and working with a professional printmaker will be of enormous assistance to the artist.
Criteria: The applicant must be an emerging or established artist with an interest in printmaking. No printmaking experience is necessary. To be eligible to apply applicants must have been brought up, have studied in IADT, or currently reside in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council administrative area.
