Re-Vision Performing Arts Festival welcomes diverse and innovative submissions from artists and creatives who incorporate, celebrate or challenge performative aspects within their work.
Re-Vision works to interrogate gender inequality, fight for empowerment and address issues relating to identity, gender, mental health and well-being. Through supporting and promoting socially engaged art practices, our goal is to move beyond gender mainstreaming and to inspire engagement and action.
For Re-Vision’s 2021 programme, we will be exploring narratives and ideas around the theme ‘Half Way Out Of The Dark’. This is primarily related to the progress made within the queer community in Northern Ireland while also understanding there is still quite a way to go. This year, we are excited to explore and celebrate the paradox of light and dark while challenging the idea of illuminating hope.
“Seeds grow in darkness underground. We all require time of not knowing, wandering lost in the dark. To grow, you need to travel through darkness.”
Submissions will be viewed by the Re-Vision team, and selected works will be shown and promotes as part of the 2021 Re-Vision Performing Arts Festival throughout Belfast City Centre in late November (26-28th).
