Open Call | RE:VOLVE Archipelagic Campsite
Drawing inspiration from archipelagic thinking, sensemaking and biomimicry, RE:VOLVE is a collaborative project by emergent, Native Events, and No Disco that transforms festival campsites into engines of cultural change. Our aim is to reduce waste and anti-social behaviour in the events industry while fostering new ways of thinking and doing in society. The first iteration of RE:VOLVE will be piloted at the Fleadh Cheoil Festival 2022 from 31st July – 7th August.
RE:VOLVE campsites are composed of customised neighbourhoods, a central event stage, and unique hubs that divide and connect the space. We are currently seeking submissions by artists and other cultural producers (excepting musicians) for the programming of cultural events and experiences at these hubs.
We are open to new work and all art forms, including 2D work, installation, performance, storytelling, and video. As a key aim of RE:VOLVE is to foster cultural change in relation to climate change, work that helps achieve this goal is particularly welcome. That said, there are no set themes for the open call and we are interested in any type of thought-provoking work. It is of course important to consider the audience of the Fleadh Cheoil.
Admission to the Fleadh Cheoil is free to the public. Selected artists will receive two nights’ accommodation at the RE:VOLVE staff campsite and an artist/materials fee of €200.
To apply, please send a single PDF to tommie@nativeevents.ie. The PDF should include an artwork proposal (max 800 words), up to 10 images and/or 3 video links describing the work proposed, and an artist CV of no more than 1 page (optional).
Submission Deadline: 25/06/2022
