Open Call | Submissions for the Sir William Orpen Prize 2026

Open to all Irish artists living in Ireland or abroad and open to any overseas artists living in Ireland.

The prestigious “Ready to Start” Orpen Prize for the best self-portrait will offer a total prize fund of €5,000 (cash and/or vouchers) to the top three submissions from Irish artists whose self-portrait best expresses a moment of considered, meaningful reflection in their artistic career to date. Submissions may be in the form of a painting, drawing or sculpture.
