This class is designed to offer students the opportunity to paint in oils the posed model for a significant period of time. Beginners are welcome although more drawing and painting experience will be appreciated.
Students will be taught in a step by step approach how to go about painting the model in oils, from the drawing stages to the middle and final completed finishing stages. From dry brush to dead colouring to the final glazing. Flesh colours, anatomy, composition, paint technique, etc, will all be discussed, demonstrated and practiced in front of the model and the students. Students will be shown how to approach placing the model on their canvas and capturing the proper proportions necessary before commencing the flesh tones. The three-dimensional element of painting will also be practiced and demonstrated in class while in front of the posed model. This intensive two day workshop will give students a full comprehensive approach and understanding when tackling the figure in oils.
