Undoubtedly every artist’s modus operandi has altered to some degree over the last two years, through necessity and invention, so presciently for the next residency @ DAS we are trialing a two-strand residency with 4 artists working from the physical studios in person and 4 participating online.
The aim is to broaden the scope of the residency, widen the reach of participants and encourage artists to push their practice through presentations and group seminars, and possibly collaboration.
DAS welcomes proposals from artists from any background who wish to engage with digital technologies to push the boundaries of their own practice and the cultural world around us.
In-person residents will have 24-hour access to the studios with their own personal iMac workstations programmed with relevant software, and can avail of our range of specialised audio-visual equipment.
All residents have free access to a series of online workshops by creative professionals from our Future Labs programme, usually priced at £10 per workshop. (https://vimeo.com/digitalartsstudios/vod_pages), and a range of artists online talks.
Please note that we are based on the second floor and, due to the building’s listed status, unfortunately there is no lift access.
The residency runs from April to July inclusive.
DAS is kindly supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
£60 for in-person studio
£30 for online studio
