Please note the following changes made to The Artist in the Community Scheme, by the Arts Council and Create in response to Covid19:
Artist in the Community Scheme Awards
Accepting Research and Development Awards ONLY
Deadline extended from 30 March to 5:30pm, to Monday 27 April 2020
In recognition of the severe limitations in place due to physical distancing and the challenges this poses to Project Realisation proposals, they will offer Research and Development Awards Only (both with and without mentoring) in Round One.
The Arts Council welcome research and development proposals that, in particular, consider digital and virtual space as a valid and essential arena for collaborative artistic endeavour. Proposals may, but are not required to, explore collaborative arts practice in a time of pandemic and physical distancing.
For this round only, in light of the difficulties posed for artists in the current crisis, they are increasing the R&D Award amounts. Full details of these changes are available on the Create website.
Accepting applications for both Research and Development Awards and Project Realisation Awards
Deadline changed from 21 September to 5:30pm, Monday 27 July 2020
Collaborative practice is relational. The work develops because of direct and often durational encounters between artists and communities of interest and place. The Arts Council recognise the challenge posed to devising collaborative projects in a time of physical distancing and the urgent demands on community development and civil society organisations to focus on immediate service provision. They are therefore are rescheduling the Round two deadline for Research and Development and Project Realisation Proposals to July 27th. All award amounts revert as normal in Round Two.
Create and Fire Station Artists’ Studios Artist Residency Award
Due to COVID-19, it is not possible to co-host the Create and Fire Station Artists’ Studios Artist Residency Award in June as planned and therefore are necessarily exploring alternative dates. Create will post an update when normal working frameworks have been re-established.
Summer School on Collaborative Arts and Cultural Diversity
Create are currently researching a new autumn date to host the Summer School on Collaborative Arts and Cultural Diversity. They will update you with the new date as soon as possible and adjust the callout and receipt of proposals accordingly.
