An awareness programme for artists working with children and young people
Artists are often engaged in programmes where the safety of children and young people is paramount. This training will help artists plan effectively and understand their responsibilities.
The session will cover:
Defining Safeguarding and Child Protection
Overview of relevant legislation, policy and guidance
Definitions of child abuse
Overview of Children First Guidance and accompanying obligations
Roles of statutory services – Tusla & An Garda Síochána
Child Safeguarding Statements (and accompanying risk assessments) – templates
Child Safeguarding Statement Compliance Unit
Related procedures – Child Protection Policies, Complaints Policy, Anti-Bullying Policy
Roles: DLP, Relevant Person, Service Provider, Mandated Persons
This training event is held over two 2hr sessions. You should attend both sessions to complete the training.
Session 1 – 11am – 1pm
Session 2 – 3pm – 5pm
