Woodsculpting with Con Gent at the Schoolhouse for Art

A beginner’s guide to woodcarving tools and techniques with wood sculptor Conleth Gent, held ‘Under the Tent’ at the Schoolhouse, whose large sculptures feature in our Sculpture Garden. You’ll leave with your own finished carving! Topics include: tool selection, care & safety; wood characteristics; relief carving; carving in the round. Participants work on a chosen project. Bring a sketch, photocopy, or clay model as reference.
